Rodney L. Holsinger

DOVER-Rod Holsinger, 63, of Dover passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 16 at York Hospital. He was born on September 13, 1954 in Roaring Spring, PA to the late Charles and Marjorie (Hicks) Holsinger. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years Evie, who he married January 26, 1985. He is survived by his daughter Mysti, grandchildren Emmy and Mason of Duncansville, PA; his son Chad (wife Jen) and grandchildren Kade, Logan and Liam of Felton, PA., siblings Charlotte Everhart of Altoona, PA and Chuck Holsinger of Wrightsville, PA. Rod is also survived by a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ron and Ginny Crone and his long time best friend Marvin Ebaugh. Rod was a 1972 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School. He retired from Exel Logistics as a supervisor in 2013. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for archery hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, and hiking with his beloved rescue dog Hank. He and Evie enjoyed vacationing with their dogs in the mountains of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Rod was a devoted husband, loving father, proud Pappy, and a loyal friend who touched the lives of many. He will be forever missed by those who loved him. A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23 at Heffner Funeral Chapel, Kenneth Road, York, PA. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 9:30 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA.
