Robin M. (Shatzer) Grothe

WINDSOR-Robin M. (Shatzer) Grothe, 47, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at her residence, after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. She was the wife of Scott A. Grothe. The couple celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary on March 27, 2014. Robin was born in Philadelphia on June 16, 1967, the daughter of Donald and Judith (Pittman) Kenney of Red Lion. She owned and operated her own cleaning service in York. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in her flower beds. Robin leaves two daughters, Ashley Frey and her husband Cody of Windsor and Abbie Grothe of Windsor; four sons, Adam Moore, Jr. and his companion Tasha Gladwin of Windsor, Mike Grothe and his fiancée, Jennifer Jones of Westminster, MD, Scottie Grothe and his wife Heather of Eureka, KS, and Timmy Grothe of Hanover; five grandchildren, Dakota, Paige, Brody, Evan, and MJ. She also leaves two brothers, Timothy Weissinger of Red Lion and Steve Harlacker of York; six sisters, Penny Shatzer Baker of York, Marjorie Shenberger of York, Kristina Kenney Ali of Red Lion, Kathy Minnier of Wrightsville, Iona Naumann of Dallastown and Colleen Lewis of Hagerstown, MD; numerous nieces and nephews; and her “favorite sister-in-law” Susie Grothe. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 1-2p.m. on Wednesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the funeral home, with Pastor Jerry Tipton officiating, followed by burial in Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Felton.
