Robin L. Kneller

On Sunday, Sept 1, 2024, Robin L. Kneller of York, PA passed away at York Hospital at the age of 70. Robin was predeceased by her husband of 31 years Samuel C. Kneller on December 17, 2004. She was the daughter of the late James R. Barton, his wife Beverly, as well as her mother Patricia A. Shaw.

 Born on May 1, 1954 in Wilmington, DE, Robin then moved with her family to Pennsylvania where she grew up in Liberty Corners and then Monroeton. For many years she resided in Troy, PA with her husband and two children.

 Robin graduated from Towanda High School in 1972 and received a Master’s of Education with a Certification in Reading at Mansfield University. Following graduation, Robin became an elementary school teacher at Canton Elementary and it brought her much joy until the day she retired. Early intervention with children allowing them to begin reading at a young age was a passion of hers and she carried this love on to her grandchildren.

 Robin loved to travel with trips to NYC, Ireland and Germany but her favorite place was the beach where she enjoyed annual trips with her children and grandchildren including this summer shortly before her passing. In her spare time, she enjoyed creating crafts, reading books, and baking with the family. She made the best apple pies imaginable.

 Robin is survived by two daughters, Danielle Kretzer and her husband, Eric of Hagerstown, MD and Heidi Kneller-Brown and her husband, Christopher of York; three grandchildren, Braeden Kretzer, Isla Brown and Hudson Brown; sister, Laurie Washington and her husband, Ulysses “Ukee” of Wilmington, DE; three brothers, James Barton, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Michael Barton and his wife, Denise of Merritt, NC and Mark Barton of Monroeton; and several nieces and nephews.

 Services for Mrs. Kneller are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.
