Roberta R. (Sauerwald) Richardson

YORK-Roberta R. (Sauerwald) Richardson, 73, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of E. Richard Richardson to whom she was married for 46 years. A viewing will be held 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., Wednesday, April 28th, 2010 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 947 N. George Street, York, PA, 17404. A celebration of life service will follow at 12 p.m. led by reverend Beth A. Schlegel. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Richardson was born May 6, 1936 in N. York, the daughter of the late Robert G. and Virgie E. Sauerwald. She was a graduate of N. York High School, and enjoyed drawing in her spare time over the years. Mrs. Richardson was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where she was the secretary for over 25 years, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school. She was also a former employee of Bon Ton Foods. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Richardson is survived by a son, Eric R. Richardson, his wife Kristi L. Richardson, and granddaughter, Samantha K. Richardson of Martinsburg, WV; a brother, Neil I. Sauerwald of Cape Coral, FL and niece, Susan Owens and her husband John Owens of Thomasville, NC; a brother Keith A. Sauerwald, his wife Joyce E. Sauerwald of Cape Coral, FL, and niece Jill E. Keppel and her husband Philip Keppel, of Burbank, CA; and many additional nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, York.
