Roberta Jean (Majors) Kabat

DALLASTOWN- Roberta Jean (Majors) Kabat, 94, died on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Manor Care Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Emil A. Kabat to whom she was married for 64 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born on July 25, 1923 in Beaver Falls, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy R. and Idella T. (Walker) Majors. Roberta was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Kabat attended St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Dallastown. Mrs. Kabat is survived by two daughters, Patricia Holtzapple and husband, Charles of Red Lion and Amy Mellinger and husband, David of Weston, FL; six grandchildren, Michal Malur, Michael McElwain, Bryan Holtzapple, Lori Holtzapple, Justin Mellinger and Gregory Mellinger; three great grandchildren, Mia and Miah Malur and Catherine McElwain; one brother, Raymond Majors of Beaver; and two sisters, LaRue Lansberry of Gainesville, FL and Lyndal Reynolds of Wampum, PA. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra J. McElwain. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
