Robert W. Spahr

YORK- Robert W. Spahr, 86, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Broadmore Senior Living in York. He was the husband of the late Phyllis E. (Alwood) Spahr. Mr. Spahr was born in Dover Township on April 10, 1931, the son of the late Harvey J. and Mabel A. (Rentzel) Spahr. He retired in 1993 from Voith Hydro in York. Mr. Spahr was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ and Shiloh American Legion Post 791. He served as a member of the York County Veterans Honor Guard and served in the US Navy Reserves. Mr. Spahr leaves three grandchildren, Danielle Kitner of North Carolina, Jennifer Antonacci and husband, of Lancaster, PA, Chad Slonaker and wife, of Spring Grove, five great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Sandra Slonaker. Memorial contributions may be made to York County Veterans Honor Guard, P.O. Box 712 Mount Wolf, PA 17347 Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with arrangements. Services will be private.
