Robert W. Hughes

FAWN GROVE- Robert W. Hughes, 87, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy. He was the husband of the late Pauline E. (Kessler) Hughes. The couple were married nearly 66 years before Pauline’s passing this past December. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Born October 3, 1929 in PenArgyl, Robert was a son of the late Robert I. and Winifred M. (Amy) Hughes. Mr. Hughes served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the NRA, the Amateur Trapshooting Association, and several other gun clubs. Mr. Hughes is survived by three daughters, Ann Sherron and her husband Robert of Dallastown, Julie Miller and her husband Edward of Red Lion, and Laurie Thompson and her husband Jesse of Red Lion; seven grandchildren; a great grandson on the way; a brother, James Hughes and his wife Sue of CA; three sisters, Kay Sheckler and her husband Paul of CA, Nancy Abbey and her husband Bill of NC, and Janet Arndt of Levittown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
