YORK- Robert W. Bush, 104, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Country Meadows, Trolley Rd. He was the husband of the late Erdean (Kinard) Bush who died on September 28, 2000. A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd., York with Pastor Larry Parlett officiating and Full Military Honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A funeral cortege will meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born on September 17, 1917 in Hopewell Twp., he was a son of the late Earle E. and Zora E. (Hamilton) Bush. Robert was a mechanic at Richman’s in Shrewsbury, later Isenocks, Walkers Services Station where he pumped gas, worked on small engines, chainsaws and mowers and retired from Flinchbaughs where he worked maintenance at the defense plant. Robert served our country in the U.S Army for two and a half years during WWII where he was a member of the 10th Armor Division and served under General George S. Patton for 3-4 months. Robert was a member of Hopewell United Presbyterian Church, Stewartstown Senior Center and Stewartstown Area Historical Society. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds, cats, small engine repair, wood carving, trains, dancing, coin collecting, stamp collecting and spent many hours sorting and reading mail. Mr. Bush is survived by his sister, Eleanor Sheperd of Shrewsbury; two nephews, Stan and Robert Sheperd; two nieces, Christine Whiteford and Sandy Auchenbugh; sister-in-law, Arlene Bush of Shrewsbury; nephew in law, Frank Poch of Naples, FL; and his friends and neighbor, Clara and George Stroup of Stewartstown. He was preceded in death by his brother, Emory Bush; nieces, Barbara Ann Poch and Rosie Moser; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Sheperd.
