Robert W. Bob" Mott

TROY- Robert W. "Bob" Mott, 82, of Troy, PA, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2007 in the Skilled Nursing Unit of Towanda Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Eleanor H. (Haven) Mott who passed away on May 23, 2002. Family and friends are welcome to call from 9:00-9:45 AM on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. At 9:45 AM Trojan Lodge #306 will give a Masonic service. The funeral service to honor Bob's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 29th at the funeral home with Rev. Garry Zuber of the 1st Baptist Church of Troy officiating. The Troy Veterans Honor Guard will give military rites. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Bob was born on May 15, 1925 at Mills Hospital in Towanda, PA. He was son of the late Wesley and Alma (LaMont) Mott. Bob was a Canton High School graduate, class of 1943. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy, serving from 1943-1946 as a Machinist Mate, and was stationed in the Philippines. He was awarded the Philippine Liberation Medal, Pacific Theatre Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, and the Victory Medal. Bob was owner and operator of Mott's Excavating until his retirement. He was a member of the Troy American Legion Post #49 and Trojan Lodge #306 of Free and Accepted Masons. Bob is survived by his daughter Sue (Ed) Flynn of Towanda, PA, his sons: Jerry Mott of Troy, PA and Robert (Amy) Mott, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, his grandchildren: Casey and Kelsey Flynn, Kelly, David, Grace, and Evan Mott, his sisters: Dorothy Smithgall of Canton, PA and Mary Lou Chadwick of Camptown, PA, along with several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eleanor, and his sisters: Bernice Holcomb, Marian Holmes, and Jean Holcomb.
