Robert V. Kauffman

NEW CUMBERLAND - Robert V. Kauffman, 90, died on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services, Camp Hill. He was the husband of Norma Jean (Urich) Kauffman. The couple wed on January 15, 1949. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 863 Lewisberry Rd., Lewisberry, PA, with his pastor, the Reverend Timothy L. Hoffman officiating. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 West Front St., Lewisberry is in charge of arrangements. Born on February 7, 1923 in Enola, he was a son of the late Harry and Susannah (Gill) Kauffman. Robert was an Installation Manager for Diebold, Inc. for 20 years. He also was a self employed auto mechanic for many years and enjoyed restoring cars. Mr. Kauffman served our country for two years in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Kauffman was a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a life member of the Lower Allen VFW Post #7530, a member of the 49’ers Camping Association and enjoyed motor home camping through the Susquehanna Wagoneers. Robert was a leader of Boy Scouts of America along with other positions for over 20 years. He and his wife Norma Jean wintered in Florida since 1986. Along with his wife, Mr. Kauffman is survived by two sons, Steven R. Kauffman and his wife, Kathy of York Haven and Richard A. Kauffman and his wife, Sharon of Carlisle; one daughter, Joyce E. Borrell and her husband, Dennis of Ephrata; nine grandchildren, Zachary, Jeremy, Kira, and Erin Kauffman, Courtney Carson, Eric Beane, Janel Darrin, Stacy Snyder and Connie Adamson; and 13 great grandchildren.
