YOE- Robert T. Morton, II, 69, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services, South in York. He was the husband of Karen S. (Weitkamp) Morton. The couple celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on September 20, 2016. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. Pastor Judy M. Bupp will be officiating at the service. Burial will be private in Yoe Union Cemetery. Mr. Morton was born in York on March 30, 1947, the son of Mary (Morningstar) Morton of York and the late Robert T. Morton. He was the founder and owner of RoMor Communications of Yoe. Mr. Morton was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Yoe, where he served as a Chairman for the Trustees. He was a 1966 Graduate of York Suburban. He was previously a member of, Springettsbury Fire Company, Yoe Fire Company, where he was president for a year, Yoe Fire Company Ambulance Club, where he was a founding member, Red Lion Elks Lodge #1592, Associate member of Fraternal Order of Police #73, and the Optimist Club. He served on the Yoe Borough Council for 15 years and was president for five years. He served in the US Air Force in the Vietnam War and he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Along with his wife Karen and his mother Mary, he also leaves nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 81 N. Main Street, Yoe, PA 17313.
