RED LION – Robert P. Craley, 77, of Equine Meadows in Red Lion, died on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Manor Care South following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Lorraine N. (Sechrist) Craley, with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Emanuel Lutheran Church of Freysville, 2650 Freysville Rd, Red Lion with The Rev. Robert D. Kitchen officiating. A viewing will be held at the Church from 10-11:00 AM Tuesday. Burial will be in Freysville Union Cemetery immediately following the service. Robert was born in Red Lion on October 20, 1934, a son of the late Ralph V. and Mary (McGuigan) Craley. He was predeceased by a sister, Josephine Conicella and two brothers, James and Dale Craley. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, and leaves two sons, David E. Craley and his wife Alina of Atlanta, GA, and Steven R. Craley of Dallastown; four grandchildren, Heather Craley, Brett Daugherty, Austin Craley, and Konstantin Kapustin; three great grandchildren; together with several nieces and nephews. Bob graduated from Red Lion High School in 1952, and from Franklin & Marshall College in 1956. He served in the US Army, being stationed in Long Island City, New York. Bob was employed by Bendix Corp., Topflight Tape, and retired from York Tape and Label Co. as it National Systems Manager. Robert was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Freysville where he served in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher, Church treasurer, and served many years on Council. His love of music took him in many directions. He played with the Red Lion Concert Band; several dance bands, and the Lyric Band in Hanover for many years. Bob enjoyed singing with the White Rose Barbershop Chorus and sang baritone with his quartet, Continental Square, entertaining many persons in our area, and also outside Pennsylvania. Always active in community affairs, he was involved with the Red Lion Jaycees where he helped organize Red Lion’s first Stay at Home Fourth. Bob was a member of the Red Lion Lions Club, serving for many years as Chairman of its White Cane Committee, which aids visually impaired persons.
