York—Robert P. “Bob” Myers, 74, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at York Hospital. He was the 40 year companion of June I. (Frey) Sipe A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born December 11, 1939 in Newberrytown, he was a son of the late Paul Myers and Florence Taylor. He graduated 1st in his class from Dover High School with the class of 1958. He was employed with Sports World Marine as their general manager for 20 years. A member of the Red Lion V.F.W and National Rifle Association, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He played guitar for the Country Ramblers, Bob Myers & The Rockets and later with High Country and for 10 years he performed as an Elvis Impersonator. In addition to his companion, Mr. Myers is also survived by two daughters, Judy Bleacher and husband, Curt of Windsor and Janet Reisinger of Manchester; one step son, Richard Sipe of Red Lion; one step daughter, Terry Longo and husband, Steve of Red Lion; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one step half sister, Connie Brown of Florida and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one half brother, Pfc. Terry Taylor and one sister, Betty Swavely In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 N.
