Robert O. Lapp

York—Robert O. Lapp, 68, died Monday, May 4, 2015 at York Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born October 29, 1946 in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Elam and Ruth (Ressler) Lapp. He was employed as a truck driver of several years working with Service Supply and Beverage Transportation, before retiring from A&S Kinard Trucking. An avid Penn State Football fan, he also enjoyed hunting, making string art, wood working and flower gardening. He was a member of Trinity (Roth’s) United Church of Christ where he was a Deacon and part of the property committee and was also a member of the W. York Jaycees through which he was a dedicated volunteer for the Special Olympics. Mr. Lapp is survived by one daughter, Melissa J. Hunt and her husband, Jeffrey of York, one step daughter, Rhonda J. Harrison and her husband, Mark of Hanover; three grandchildren, Lindsay, Benjamin and Joseph Harrison; one brother, James L. Lapp of York and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be to Special Olympics of York County, P. O. Box 333, Dover, PA 17315.
