Robert Michael Breen

York – Robert Michael Breen, 73, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at his home. He was the husband of Carla M. (Grignano) Breen, to whom he was married for 32 years. Born on October 19, 1946 in York, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Miriam (Schultz) Breen. In 1966, Robert entered into the army and worked as a radio relay and cook until his Honorable discharge in 1968. He was a member at the West York VFW. Robert worked at Gishner Shelter Systems and Fox Pool Co. until his retirement in 2009. Robert enjoyed the outdoors. Growing up he was a Boy Scout and continued to camp and fish throughout his whole like. He loved spending time with his family, taking them camping every weekend. He enjoyed bird watching, thunderstorms, tending to his small vegetable patch, going to the beach and bowling. He loved to cook, spending time with his wife making some of their favorite meals together. The freezer is still full of left over chili and bean soup. Robert is survived by a son, Jonathan M. Breen; two daughters, Sara E. Breen and Amanda M. Hendrickson and significant other, Derek; six grandchildren, Dimitrius, Harmony, Aviana, Keon, Solara, Mason; six sisters, Patty McCleary, Marsha Smith, Mary Street, Maggie Messersmith, Barb Myers and Bridgett Hahn and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Jeff, Danny and Thomas Breen and a sister, Kathy Myers. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, PA. Officiating will be Chaplain Mary Kay Alpaugh. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will be at 1:15 p.m. before the service. A visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
