Robert M. Lomison

Williamsport, PA - Robert Milford Lomison, age 93, passed away peacefully on July, 4th 2023 at his son's home in Boiling Springs, PA. He was born on January 23, 1930, in Williamsport, PA. Robert succumbed to natural causes.

He is survived by his devoted son, Robert C Lomison, and spouse Drew W. Cross of Boiling Springs, PA. His daughter, Diane L Brandenburg of Tucson, AZ, also mourns his loss. Robert leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Melissa A and Joseph E Brandenburg of Tucson, AZ, as well as his cherished great-granddaughter, Trinity J Brandenburg of Tucson, AZ. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Phoebe B Lomison of Williamsport, PA.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Joyce A Lomison, from Montoursville, PA. He had also been a companion of the late Georgina Gerrity of Carlisle, PA, and Marilyn Kirschner of Oakhurst, NJ. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Jennifer Lomison of Montoursville, PA, and six siblings.

"Tailgate," as he was affectionately known, was a retired owner-operator of an 18-wheeler. He had a strong sense of duty and honor, having served in the US Army during the Korean War, stationed in Japan. Robert was the past commander of VFW Post #743 in Montgomery, PA, and an elder and trustee of the Montoursville Presbyterian Church. He held a lifetime membership in the American Legion Post #104 in Montoursville, PA, and was a dedicated member of the Montoursville Fire Company. Robert served as a neighborhood commissioner of the West Branch Council BSA and actively assisted Girl Scout Troop 301.

Outside of his commitments, Robert indulged in his passions for woodworking, fishing, hunting, and all things outdoors.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Montoursville Presbyterian Church, 900 Elm Street, Montoursville, Pa 17754. A Visitation will be held from 11:00AM – 12:00PM at the church. Officiating the service will be his pastor, the Rev. David Smith. Inurnment will be held at Montoursville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Montoursville Presbyterian Church, located at 205 Tule St., Montoursville, PA 17754.

Robert Milford Lomison will be remembered for his loving nature, strong work ethic, and his unwavering commitment to his family, community, and country. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.
