Red Lion — Robert M. Leiphart, 74, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Betty Jane (Krouse) Leiphart to whom he was married for 54 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 PM, Monday, February 8, 2016 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Rev. James B. Shuler of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Airville officiating. A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born August 31, 1941 in Delta, he was the son of the late Clair E. and Catherine E. (Cochran) Leiphart. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers—Local 229 for 40 plus years until his retirement in 2003. An avid car enthusiast, he enjoyed working on and re-building cars. He loved country and blue grass music and played bass with the Country Legends. He also enjoyed watching the History Channel, NASCAR and was a loyal owner of several Boston Terriers throughout his life. In addition to his wife, Mr. Leiphart is also survived by one son, David E. Leiphart of Dallastown; one daughter, Tamela J. “Tammy” Horne of Red Lion; three grandchildren, Jayme Lambert and her husband, Justin of Mt. Airy, MD, and Hayden and Trey Horne of Red Lion; three great grandchildren, William and Lydia Lambert and Weston Horne; one sister, Debra L. Miller and her husband, Jay of Florida and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Connie A. Bair. In lieu of flower memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406 or Airville Volunteer Fire Company—Station 55, 3576 Delta Rd, Airville, PA 17302.
