Robert M. Dorney

TROY - Robert M. "Pappy" Dorney, Age 74, of Gillett, PA passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. Robert was born March 12, 1935 in Allentown, PA son of the late Jacob and Irene Bertsch Dorney. He was a graduate of Coopersburg High School and married the former Maryann Zelasko who survives. Bob was retired from the PB&NE Railroad where he worked as a Yardmaster. He also worked as a school bus driver for the Southern Lehigh School District. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, member of the South Creek Northern Tier Sportsman Club, played softball on the Bingen Softball Team for many years and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Survivors include his loving wife Maryann Z. Dorney of Gillett, PA, son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Barbara Dorney of Emmaus, PA, daughter and son-in-law, Donna M. and Raymond Martin of Fayetteville, PA, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, a niece, Jennifer Dornay. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donald L. Dornay Family and friends are invited to call from 4 to 5:30 PM Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Gerald W. Vickery Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 W. Main Street, Troy, PA. a memorial service will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours at 5:30 PM with Reverend Richard Noggle officiating. A memorial service to honor Bob's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2451 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley, PA 18034 with Pastor Dennis Carroll officiating.
