Robert M. Boney" Soper

Troy, PA- Robert M. "Boney" Soper, Age 70 of Route 14 Gillett, PA passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at home with his family at his side. He was born December 5, 1938 in Sayre, PA son of the late Charles and Lillian (Crumb) Soper. He was a veteran of the US Navy from 1956 to 1959. Boney was a self-employed carpenter and had the natural talent to fix anything. His interests included carpentry work, building and racing stock cars and riding snowmobiles. Surviving are his wife Barbara B. Soper of Gillett, PA, his children, David and Karen Soper of Redding, PA, Robyn Soper of Pennsdale, PA, Michael and Debra Banks of Gillett, PA, Robert "BJ" Soper of Carson City, NV, Richard and Deborah Banks of Denver, CO, Donald Banks of Gainesville, MO, brother Jack Soper of FL, sisters, Sally and Phil Wood of Alba, PA, Connie Soper of Rapid City, SD, Jean and Bernie Koop of VanEtten, NY, nine grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents a daughter Michele Soper in 1985 and his sister Julia predeceased Boney. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 7 PM Monday, July 13. 2009 at the Gerald W. Vickery Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 W. Main Street, Troy, PA. His funeral with military honors will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 7 PM with Pastor Erik Ferguson officiating.
