Robert Leroy Harris

WILLIAMSPORT - Robert Leroy "Bob" "Roy" Harris, 82, died on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Manor Care South, Williamsport. Robert was born on July 30, 1927 in Unityville and was the son of the late A. Lee and Kathryn (Bartlow) Harris. He was a Pvt. First Class in the US Army and served during WWII. He was a former employee of Hall's Trucking and was a former member of the American Legion and the 40-8 Club. Robert is survived by four sons; James "Jim" Harris of Harrisburg, Donald Harris of Cogan Station, Dave Harris of Kansas City, MO and Dale Harris of Watsontown, two daughters; Lora May Harris of Jersey Shore and K. Lynn Moyer of Williamsport, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one brother; Daniel Harris of Lackawaxen and one sister; Alida "Jean" Winters of Cogan Station. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; B. Ruth Creasey. The Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Franklin "Stone Heap" Cemetery, Unityville. Arrangements are being handled by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport.
