Robert L White

WILKES-BARRE Robert Lewis White, 77, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Manorcare, Kingston. Born on March 8, 1933, Robert was a son of the late James and Beatrice (Betts) White. He was a graduate of GAR High School. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member of Firwood United Methodist Church and was also very active with the Firwood Senior Citizens. He was preceded in death by his companion of 35 years Aletha Churry and brothers James White and William White. Surviving are sons, Robert White, Jr., Wilkes-Barre, and Thomas White, Kingston; grandchildren Robert White III and Tyler White; three great-grandchildren; nephew and caregiver James and his wife Jacqueline White, Wapwallopen; and several other nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Firwood United Methodist Church, Old River Road & Dagobert St., Wilkes-Barre, 18702. Officiating will be The Reverend H. Douglas Posegate. Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the church at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc.
