Robert L. "Rl" Jackson

Robert L. “RL” Jackson, 81, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Dallastown Nursing Center. He was the husband of the late Yvonne M. “Vonnie” (Glatfelter) Jackson to whom he was married for 60 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Friday, June 17, 2016 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. Bryan Mann officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday and from 9-10 AM, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. Jackson was born January 27, 1935 in Springfield Twp., he was a son of the late John W. and Lottie A. (Sheffer) Jackson. He owned and operated his own construction business, “R. L. Jackson Construction, Inc.,” for 35 years until his retirement at the end of 2000. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends at the family cabin in Mifflin County. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Jacobus, loved country and bluegrass music and traveling with his wife and friends. Mr. Jackson is survived by five sons, Jeffery Jackson and his wife, Linda of Seven Valleys, Terry Jackson and his wife, Sheila of Dallastown, Danny Jackson and his wife, Tina of York, James Jackson and his wife, Lisa of York and Todd Jackson and his wife, Belinda of York; one daughter, Brenda Willwert and her husband, John of Red Lion; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Smith and Myrtle Myers and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Jackson; four brothers, Paul, Roy, John and Lester and two sisters, Mary Glatfelter and Dorothy Smith.
