Robert L. 'Bob' Strayer

YORK – Robert L. “Bob” Strayer, 71, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Haruyo M. (Matuba) Strayer to whom he was married for 36 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant, Betty Frey officiating. Full military rites will provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born May 23, 1943 in Emigsville, a son of the late Robert Small and the late Blanche M. Strayer, he retired from Honeywell, Inc. in 2003. Bob was a member of White Rose VFW, Shiloh American Legion, and enjoyed playing games, putting puzzles together, and completing crosswords. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Strayer leaves many friends.
