COLUMBIA CROSSROADS,Robert James Mason, 82,of Columbia Crossroads, PA passed away on Monday, July 23, 2007 at his home from pulmonary fibrosis. He is the husband of Doris (Fulboam) Mason, to whom he married on January 17, 1948 and loved dearly for more than 60 years. Robert, who was better known as Bob, was born in Mount Horeb, NJ and was the son of the late William and Mabel (Nelson) Mason. Bob retired 20 years ago from Loft's Pedigreed Seed Company where he worked for 38 years as a mechanic. He was a member of the Martinsville Fire Company and the Mount Horeb Methodist Church where he will be buried. He took great pride in his home and beautiful gardens, his tractors, anything John Deere, and his collection of farm implement seats. He especially loved gabbing with his good friends. Bob wanted to be remembered as loving his wife, his two daughters and their husbands, his grandson and his wife, and his two great granddaughters. Bob is survived by his wife Doris, his daughters; Carol Schoenig and her husband Joe of Vermont, Doreen Hale and her husband Billy of North Carolina, his grandson Chris Schoenig and his wife Jen and their two daughters Cheyenne and Lily of Vermont, and his beloved little cocker spaniel, Cori. He is also survived by his brother Bill Mason of New Jersey, his sister Elsa Calaway of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Albert Mason and sisters Alice Cramer, Florence Durwitz, Helen Parr, Dottie Dilts, and Esther Kingman. Services are private and are at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place with the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. A time for family and friends to gather and celebrate Bob's life will be held at the Bob and Doris's home in Columbia Crossroads on Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bob's memory to Guthrie Hospice, RR1 Box 154, Towanda, PA 18848.
