Robert J. Moore Sr,

Red Lion—Robert J. Moore Sr, 73, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his residence in Chanceford Township. He was the husband of late Mary A. (Holmes) Moore. A celebration of life service will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A visitation will follow the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the funeral home. Born September 15, 1936 in Rocks, Maryland, he was a son of the late William F. and Henrietta M. (Purkuski) Moore. He was employed as a laborer for several years with Moore Construction. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and a proud member the Army's 101st Airborne. A member of the Red Lion American Legion Post 543, he enjoyed playing music, especially the guitar and harmonica. Mr. Moore is survived by eight children, Mary K. "Kitty" Moore of Red Lion, Joanne M. McClellan of York, Robert J. Moore Jr, of Red Lion, Shelby J. Cole of York, Timothy M. Moore of Red Lion, Adam B. Moore, of Airville, Patricia A. Gray of Stewartstown, and James E. Moore of Felton, 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two brothers, Andy and James, two sisters, Cathy and Nora, nieces and nephews and his dog raven. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Phillip Crouse, one brother, William and one sister, Margaret.
