Robert J. Maul

DOVER- Robert J. Maul, 87, of Dover, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at Rest Haven Nursing Center. He was the loving husband of Betty J. (Foust) Maul. A celebration of life tribute service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Salem United Church of Christ, 2705 W. Canal St., Dover with the Rev. Dr. Richard H. Smeltzer officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday morning at Prospect Hill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is assisting with services. Born July 10, 1920 in Dover, the son of the late Daniel W. and Fairy B. (Nesbit) Maul. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corps. in 1943, serving in the Pacific. Robert saw the flag raised in Iwo Jima. Later, he was employed with I. Reindollar & Son, Inc. for over 30 years. He attended Salem United Church of Christ. He enjoyed membership at the Victory Athletic Association, the West York VFW, the Shiloh American Legion, and the Dover Fire Co. Robert is survived by a daughter, Carol A. and her husband, Luther Stauffer of Newport Ritchey, Fl.; a sister, Lucy M. Baker of NY.; and many nieces.
