Robert J. Keffer

YORK- Robert J. Keffer, 83, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Manor Care Kingston Ct. He was the husband of Sophia K. “Nuni” (Kotik) Keffer to whom he was married to for over 47 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be 1 p.m. on Sunday January 15, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Betty Frey, Certified Celebrant officiating. A visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service. Full military honors to be provided by the Dallastown American Legion Post #605. Mr. Keffer was born on November 16, 1928 in St. Clair, PA, a son of the late Francis and Martha (Medlar) Keffer. Robert was a District Manager for a number of A & P Stores for over 49 years. Mr. Keffer was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a life member of the Outdoor Country Club and a 32 year member of American Legion Post #605 in Dallastown. He was an avid golfer and loved baseball. Mr. Keffer served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Along with his wife, Sophia, Mr. Keffer is survived by a son, Robert E. Keffer and his wife, Terry of Yardley, PA; a grandson, Ted Stodgell; and a brother, William Keffer of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Keffer, Donald Keffer and Vincent Keffer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County Veterans Affairs, 100 W.
