WILKES-BARRE-Robert H. Miner, 89, of South Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday evening in The Laurels, Kingston. Born in Wilkes-Barre on February 16, 1919, he was a son of the late Archie W. and Mary (Tabb) Miner. He was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School. Mr. Miner was a member of Albright United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, and was a former member of Parrish Street Methodist Church. He has sung in church choirs for over 70 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 655 since 1945. He was also a member of Irem Temple A.A.O.N.M.S since 1997. An avid Penn State and Philadelphia sports fan, He was a former little league and teener's league coach for 15 years. He was formerly employed by American Chain and Cable-where he was a foreman-for 29 years. He also had worked at Bridon American Corporation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel Marshall and Margaret Modrovsky; brothers, William Miner and Ronald Miner. Surviving is his wife of 69 years, the former Loretta Reidlinger; sons Robert L. Miner and his wife, the former Beth Boylan, Forty Fort; James A. Miner and his wife, the former Lorraine Monk, Hunlock Creek; daughter, Karen Scott, Lake Mohawk, NJ; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Eudora Alexis, Kingston; Ruth Kosteva, Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Doctor James L. Harring the Reverend Patrice H. Goodwin will officiate. Interment will follow in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
