Robert H. Lentz

LEWISBERRY- Robert Henry Lentz, 93, of Newberry Township, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 at VibraLife in Mechanicsburg. He was the husband of the late Bettie (Potts) Lentz. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street in Lewisberry, with a viewing from 9-11 a.m. Certified Celebrant Betty Frey will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Tri-County Memorial Gardens in Lewisberry. Mr. Lentz was born in Newberry Township on October 7, 1923, the son of the late Clayton C. and Mary E. (Altland) Lentz. He was the owner and operator of both Lentz Texaco and Lentz Bus Lines and retired in 1990 from Wilt Precision Products. Mr. Lentz was a member of Hi-Fliars of York, Lewisberry Fire Company and was a life member of Experimental Aircraft Association. He served on the West Shore School Board and Lewisberry Borough Council. He was also formerly the Director of Lewisberry Civil Defense. He served in the 8th Air Force during WWII in the US Army Air Corps. Mr. Lentz leaves a son, Robert Lentz, II and his wife Linda of Camp Hill; two daughters, Roberta LaPrairie and her husband Brian of Dover and Lori Breyette and her husband Earl of Lewisberry; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Thelma Yeaple of York and Mary Crone of Danville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Harbold. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater PA Chapter or American Heart Association.
