Robert G. Klein, Sr.

YORK- Robert G. Klein, Sr., 88, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Brunswick Assisted Living. He was the husband of the late Nadine E. (Collins) Klein, to whom he was married 64 years before her passing in 2013. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Mt. Washington United Brethren Church, 710 Copenhaffer Rd., York, with Pastor Gordon “Skip” Bowen officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:30-7 PM prior to the service. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is in charge of arrangements. Born August 31, 1928 in Baltimore, Robert was a son of the late Rose (Lang) Klein and Adam Klein II. He worked as a machine operator for Caterpillar for over 21 years until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Klein was a member of Mt. Washington United Brethren Church. Robert loved camping and scrapping. He will be greatly missed by his family. Mr. Klein is survived by two sons, Robert G. Klein, Jr. and his wife Becky of Gardners, and James C. Klein and his wife Stacy of Hanover; three daughters, Priscilla A. Shreivert and her husband Dennis of West York, Nancy E. Sipe and her husband Kenney of East York, and Carol L. Klein-Blevins of Jacobus; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert Klein and his wife Naomi of Hanover, Howard Klein of West Minster, MD, and Michael Klein of Littlestown; a sister, Rose McLaughlin of NH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
