WELLSBURG- Robert F. Warren, Sr. “Bob” of Gillett, PA and formerly of Chalfont, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was the loving husband of Margery J. (Nuneviller) Warren. The couple married October 12, 1962 and had 49 happy years together. Bob was born on January 3, 1935 in Coatesville, PA, son of the late Forrest L. and Alberta (Montgomery) Warren. After high school he joined the National Guard and finished serving his country in 1961. From there Bob went into the construction business, joining his brother in the F.L. Warren & Sons Construction Company in Chalfont, and later working for Ralph and Bruce Haskell Construction in Elmira, NY. He later went to work for the Guthrie Health System in Sayre, PA as a courier and retired in 1997 after 10 years of service. Bob enjoyed racing and motorsports, especially sprint car racing. He was also an avid Kart racer, and at one time was one of the top 20 in the nation. Bob is survived by his wife Margery, his children: Michael A. (Chris) Warren of Elmira, NY; Robert F. Warren, Jr. of New York City, NY; and Gay L. Warren and fiancé Joe McGettigan of Media, PA; his grandchildren: David, Stephanie, Brandon, Kristen, Keith, and McKenna, his great grandsons Austin and Nate, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Sherri Chamberlain. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street in Wellsburg, NY. The funeral service to honor Bob’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 3rd at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of Bob’s family in Hanlon Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Bradford County Humane Society, P.O. Box 179 Ulster, PA 18850.
