Robert F. Van Loon

YORK- Robert F. Van Loon, 89, of York Township, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Helen L. (Pribble) Van Loon. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Road, York in York, with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. Military honors will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with the arrangements. Mr. Van Loon was born in Catlin, IL on May 17, 1926, the son of the late Reed and Louise (Fallberg) Van Loon. He retired as a plant controller for Caterpillar in York. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in York. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Mr. Van Loon leaves a daughter, Melinda Baker and her husband Robert of York; two sons, Lawrence “Larry” Van Loon and his wife Jean of Camp Hill and David Van Loon of York; four grandchildren; and a sister, Doris West of California.
