Robert F. Lightner

YORK- Robert Franklin Lightner, 78, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at The Haven at Springwood Personal Care Community. He was the husband of the late Jane (Schell) Lightner. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Rd, Red Lion from 6:30-7:30 PM. Life tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Lightner was born on March 20, 1935 in York. He worked as a mason until his retirement in 2000. Robert was a lifelong member of the Red Lion Bible Church. Robert was a business owner. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing board games with his family. He especially loved reading his bible. Mr. Lightner is survived by three sons, Robert F. Lightner, Jr. and his wife Connie of Airville, Dan Lightner and his wife Sharon of Manchester and James Lightner of Brogue; five daughters, Tafilynn Haugh and her husband Roger of Manchester, Melreha Seachrist and her husband Keith of Red Lion, Dorinda Fisher and her husband Nevin of Brogue, Katrina Lenhart and her husband Tony of Wrightsville and Tina Campbell and her husband Jeff of Red Lion; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Young of Dover. In addition to his wife, Robert was preceded in death by a grandson, James Sheets and two half brothers.
