Lancaster—Robert E. Snyder, 75, a native of Red Lion, took his last breath, Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Mennonite Home in Lancaster. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2007 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with his pastor, the Rev. David Tietje officiating. Burial will be private in Red Lion Cemetery. Born in Red Lion, on July 7, 1932, he was a son of Charles W. and Sarah M. Snyder. Bob graduated from Red Lion High School in 1950, where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He received a B.S. in Economics from Lebanon Valley College and a Masters Degree from the University of Utah. Bob was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in Japan and Korea. He was Medical Supply Sergeant with the 35th Regiment, 25th Infantry Div. He began working with Schick Electric Shaver Company in Lancaster as a Cooperative Advertising Manager. He later went on to work for both the Pennsylvania Department of Labor, as a Labor Market Analyst and the U.S. Department of Labor as a Regional Economist and retired from both after many years of service. In retirement Bob's golf game flourished as he won several championships at the Red Lion Country Club. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Red Lion, the Red Lion American Legion, Red Lion V.F.W., and the Red Lion Country Club. Mr. Snyder is survived by a nephew, Tommy Snyder of Las Vegas, a niece, Beverly Duford of Lancaster, a great niece, Nicole Piermo and family of Cary, NC. He was preceded in death by brother's Paul, Elwood, Dale and Henry and one sister, Charlotte. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, attn: Memorial Fund, 161 N. Main St., Red Lion, Pa 17356.
