Robert E. Olewiler

York- Robert E. Olewiler, 89, of York died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services Kingston Court in York. He was the husband of the late Marie G. (Zeigler) Olewiler. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road in York, with a visitation from 6-7 p.m. Full military honors will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. The Reverend Owen H. Walter will be officiating at the service. Burial will be private in Canadochly Cemetery Association. Mr. Olewiler was born in York on August 31, 1923, the son of William A. and Jennie N. (Messerly) Olewiler. He retired after 42 years as a foreman at the former William A. Ottemiller Company. Mr. Olewiler was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army. Robert was a member of the Victory Athletic Association, the Yorkana Fire Company, Pleasureville American Legion and was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mr. Olewiler is survived by step-son Donald R. Strine and wife Diane of York, three grandchildren; Jeffrey D. Strine, David J. Strine and Jennifer S. Strine, and six great-grandchildren.
