Robert E. 'Jonesy' Jones

MONTOURSVILLE - Robert E. “Jonesy” Jones, 80, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Williamsport Home. He was born March 16, 1931 in Williamsport the son of the late Stephan and Harriet (Eckel) Jones. Robert was married to the former Janet K. Keene on January 6, 1962. They celebrated 50 years of marriage together. He was the owner/operator of Jonesy Auto Parts for 31 years. Robert served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Montoursville. Robert was a 1949 graduate of Williamsport High School and an Honorary Member of South Williamsport High School class of 1949. He assisted his parents at Jones Seafood as a cook. Robert was a member of the Winnebago Club and he enjoyed traveling. He also was Chief Voter Registrar for Lycoming County from 1962 – 1964. Surviving are his loving wife two sons Robert S. (Bernadette) Jones of Williamsport and John A. (Teresa) Jones of Summerville, SC, daughter Janice L. Jones of Jacksonville, Beach, FL. Five grandchildren Curtis, Krystyna, Declan, Sara and Olivia. One sister Stephanna Zeppe of Fort Lee, NJ and also nephew and two nieces. A brother John preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held 4:00 P.M., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport with the Rev. Michael Swimley officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at Montoursville Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers.
