Robert E. Grove

RED LION – Robert E. Grove, 77, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Grothe) Grove. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 8:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with full military rites provided by Dallastown American Legion Honor Guard. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire and that all veterans in attendance are welcome to proudly wear any article of clothing that represents their military service. Born May 11, 1939 in York a son of the late Edward B. and Rachel (Orr) Grove, he was a 1957 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School. Mr. Grove worked many years for C. Joseph Deller and Sons, Inc. He was a member of Dallastown American Legion, Red Lion Senior Center and enjoyed playing cards with his family. Mr. Grove was a former member of Red Lion VFW and Red Lion Recreation Commission. He was a US Navy veteran. During his youth and young adulthood, Robert was an avid baseball player in the Red Lion. Following his military service, he enjoyed playing softball for many years in the area. Mr. Grove is survived by two daughters, Kelly J. Marshall and her fiancée Dee Searle of Dallastown and Denise R. Packer and her husband Dean of Dover; four grandchildren, Shontae and Shanise Marshall and Alex and Ryan Packer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to a local food bank or American Heart Assoc., 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
