Robert E. Eckenrode

WEST MANCHESTER TWP- Robert E. Eckenrode, 62 of York, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at his residence. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. The Reverend Kevin T. Shively will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Mr. Eckenrode was born in York on December 21, 1946, a son of Dorothy E. (Horning) Roach of York and the late Robert E. Eckenrode, Sr. He worked as a self-employed laborer and for Bricker's French Fries for the past couple of years. He thoroughly enjoyed life, enjoyed playing cards, fishing, camping and scooping ice cream. He was proud of his daughters, and all of his grandchildren. He leaves many friends in his Bricker's world. Mr. Eckenrode leaves three daughters, Corey Fodor and her husband Julian of New Oxford, Bobbie Sue Hennegan and her husband Dave of Manchester, MD and Barbara Noll of Manchester; 12 grandchildren, Josie, Christopher, Timothy, Krista, Zachary, Alexis, Johnathan, Joshua, Jadon, Samuel, Elizabeth, and Naomi; a great grandson, Rylan; and two sisters, Tina M. Bollinger of York and Karen E. Altland and her husband Steve of Hanover. A brother, Kenneth A. Eckenrode preceded him in death.
