MILTON - Robert E. “Bob” Yoder, 59, passed away from cancer on Friday, October 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Oakland Mills, Juniata County on February 09, 1956 and was the son of Leon Yoder, who survives and the late Elizabeth (Lauver) who preceded him in death on June 20, 2000. He was the beloved husband and cherished soulmate of Connie (Osman) Yoder, who survives, with whom his passing breaks a union of 25 years. Bob graduated in 1974 from Mifflinburg High School and also was a member of the first graduating class of the Drafting Curriculum at SUN Area Vocational Technical School. Upon his graduation he was employed as a draftsman/printer by SEDA-COG in Lewisburg. Bob also worked for International Paper in Lewisburg. After attending sales school he worked in various capacities and positions in sales. His working career was cut short when at the age of 36 he became afflicted with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. This affliction consumed him with unrelenting pain for the entirety of the remaining 23 years of his life. He lost his battle with cancer after 16 months. In addition to his father, Bob is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law; Dale and Karen Yoder, of McAlisterville, Ken and Cindy Yoder, of Mifflinburg and Steve and Barb Yoder of Lewistown, two sisters and brothers-in-law; Kathy and Corey Hackenberg Knepp of Middleburg and Darlene and Duane Gemberling of Mifflinburg, one sister-in-law; Pam Libhart of Mifflinburg, two step children; Jason Snyder of Lewisburg and Melanie (Snyder) Jones and husband Josh of Hatfield as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His death marks an end to a very brave and valiant battle of untold suffering and isolation. Although his early death is very sad, he has gone to be with the Lord who promises no more tears, no more pain and no more suffering. He will be deeply missed. There is a sense of profound sorrow felt by those of us remaining here on this earth but our sorrow is tempered by triumphant joy in knowing that he has joined his Heavenly Father. Memorial contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to the Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, PA 17847 “Love Equals Action Ministry” (offering services to the terminally ill, homebound, disabled and those in need of home repairs). A public viewing will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Christ Wesleyan Church, in the Davis Chapel, 363 Stamm Road, Milton followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Erik Ireland officiating. A private family burial will follow in Mifflinburg Cemetery, Mifflinburg. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
