Robert E. Blanchard

Wellsburg, NY - Robert E. Blanchard, Age 69, of Main Street, Wellsburg, NY passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at home with his loving family at his side. Bob was born November 2, 1939 in Elmira son of the late Clarence and Marion (Edic) Blanchard. He was a graduate of Southside High School and was a self employed carpenter, specializing in cabinetry making for many years and also worked in the stockroom at Wal Mart. He was a member of the Wellsburg United Methodist Church. In his spare time enjoyed woodworking, number painting, working on his computer and spending time with his devoted family. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years Gayle A. (Davies) Blanchard of Wellsburg, daughters and sons-in-law, Debra & Lawrence Richardson of Enterprise, FL, Barbara & Robert Mattison of Pine City, Robin & Steven Andrews of Gillett, PA, Tammy & Charlie Little of Elmira, a sister Janet Allen of Belmont, NC, ten grandchildren, 2 ½ great-grandchildren and his canine buddies, Daisy & Happy. Robert was predeceased by his parents and a brother Richard Blanchard. Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. His service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 4 PM with Reverend James Carr officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials are directed to the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA 2435 Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903 or to a charity of one's choice.
