Robert D. Myers

YORK- Robert D. Myers, 89, died on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Rest Haven. He was the husband of the late Delores S. (Becker) Myers, who died on August 4, 2011. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at St. Peter’s Lischey’s U.C.C. Cemetery, 5671 Lischey’s Church Rd., Spring Grove with the Reverend Robert Bistline officiating and full military honors provided by the York County Veteran’s Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is in charge of arrangements. Born on January 4, 1925 in Hanover, he was a son of the late John R. and Beulah E. Myers. Robert was a machine shop coordinator for Johnson Controls, Inc., formerly BorgWarner, Inc., until his retirement in 1990. Mr. Myers served our country for over two years in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Myers was a member of the West York VFW Post #8951 and the Vikings Athletic Association. Robert was an avid golfer. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Myers is survived by one son, Robert D. Myers, Jr., and his wife, Georgia of York; three grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel and Matthew; eight great grandchildren, Tanner, Kevin, Joshua, Justin, Isaac, Samuel, Jack and Benjamin; two brothers, Harold E. Myers and Francis Myers; and three sisters, Shirley Knox, Sara Ann Myers and Janie Myers. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Grandville Myers, John Raymond Myers, Luther Myers, Lester Cletus Myers, Russell Myers, Jr. and William K. Myers.
