Robert C. Fink, Jr.

YORK – Robert C. Fink, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Shirley E. (Wise) Fink, and the couple would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on December 17, 2023.

Born on January 17, 1939, in York, Bob was a son of the late Robert C. Fink, Sr. and Margaret K. (Smith) Starn. After high school, Bob enlisted with the Marines and served in Okinawa from 1958–1962. After returning home, he worked for York International for 33 years, retiring in 2000. Bob was very involved with his family and was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, along with the Owls Social Club, UAW Local 1872, South End Democratic Club, Hallam VFW, Prince Athletic Association, and York County Racing Club. In his younger years, he also coached little league basketball and baseball for EYC.

In addition to his beloved wife, Bob leaves behind his daughter JoAnn (Keith) Paules; two sons, Michael (Charlene) Stayman and Chris H. (Kathy) Stayman; four granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by three brothers, Earl R. Starn, Jr., Ammon Starn, and Barry Lee Fink; and four sisters, Barbara A. McGirr, Margaret Smith, Alice Jacobs, and Beverly Ann Helfrich.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Reverend Tab Cosgrove officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a viewing from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Wrightsville, PA. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A reception will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 2580 Mt Rose Ave, York, PA 17402, after the burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
