Robert Brown Fulford Iii

Robert Brown "Bob" Fulford III, Age 59 passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Troy Community Hospital. Family and friends are invited to Bob's graveside services at 11 AM Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA where full military honors will be accorded. Bob was born November 2, 1948 in Morristown, NJ son of the late Robert Brown and May Rose Snyder Fulford II. He attended area schools and faithfully served his country as a Lance Corporal with the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He was a Squad Leader to MM Motor Squad & Weapons Platoon Section Leader. During his tour of duty in Vietnam Bob saw combat action in Thua Thien Province and Quang Nam Province in ten different combat missions. In November 1968 he was reported missing in action but was later found in the Da Nang Naval Hospital being treated for injuries. Bob was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, USMC Marksman Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign and Meritorious with Gallantry Cross Medals. His family who he loved very much will sadly miss him. Survivors include his loving wife Linda L. (Pratt) Fulford of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, sons, Robert Brown Fulford IV of Florham Park, NJ, Edward D. Fulford, Abram L. Fulford and Joseph D. Fulford all of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, daughters, Laura A. Heinzman of Jacksonville, FL and Jessica Fulford of NJ, two step-sons, Vernon C. Sager and Christopher B. Sager both of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, sisters and brothers-in-law, Mae Rose and Mark Jennings of Troy, PA and Barbara Anne and Oliver Crisp of Grandville Summit, PA, 11 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob's parents, a grandson Benjamin and nephew Brett Jennings, predeceased him. In lieu of flowers memorials are directed to Linda L. Fulford, RR2 Box 62A, Columbia Cross Roads, PA 16914. The Gerald W. Vickery Funeral Home, Inc. 110 W. Main Street, Troy, PA is in charge of arrangements.
