Robert A. Stauffer, Sr.

YORK – Robert A. Stauffer, Sr., 73, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at Manor Care – North. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry with Chaplain Wesley S. Mast officiating. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Tuesday and 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery. Born February 23, 1940 in Newberry Twp., a son of the late Melvin and Esther (Bankes) Stauffer, he worked as a well driller for York Drilling Co. and later was truck driver for Central Penn Freight, and Capital Trailways, when he retired. Mr. Stauffer was a member of Lewisberry Fire Co., enjoyed attending Block Shoots, was a NASCAR fan that cheered on Jeff Gordon; and spending time camping and riding motorcycles. Mr. Stauffer is survived by four daughters, Patricia M. and husband Fred Byerly of Lewisberry, Mary M. and husband Charles Wadsworth of Coudersport, Sharon D. and husband Kenneth Fawks of Tyrone, PA, and Tracy M. and husband Keith Heiges of Etters; two sons, Robert A. Stauffer, Jr. and wife Lori of Midland, NC and James S. Stauffer of Tyrone; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren plus one on the way; and his former first wife, Patricia Houser of Tyrone; and his former second wife, Vicki Nauss of Etters. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jean Byers; and a brother, Melvin L. Stauffer. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assoc., 3544 N.
