Robert A. Fuhrman

YORK - Robert A. Fuhrman, 62, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Judith A. (Crittenden) Fuhrman to whom he was married for 37 years on June 9, 2010. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Friday and 9-10:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Born September 17, 1948 in Hanover a son of the late Burnell K. and Carolyn E. (Zentz) Fuhrman, he graduated from South Western High School in 1966 and earned his Associate Degree from Penn State University in 1968. Mr. Fuhrman retired in 2004 after 30 years with Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 19 in Philadelphia. He was active with York-Adams Labor Council and the labor side of United Way. Mr. Fuhrman enjoyed country music and was an avid drum and bugle corps fan. In addition to his wife, Mr. Fuhrman is survived by a daughter, Lisa A. and husband Todd Sangrey of Lititz; a son, Kevin E. Fuhrman of York; three granddaughters, Lauren Olivia Sangrey, Sydney Jane Fuhrman, and Rachel Lindsay Sangrey; two brothers, Ronald and wife Connie Fuhrman and Carl and wife Peach Fuhrman both of Hanover; two sisters, Leanna and husband Larry Bankert of Menges Mills and Linda and husband Eugene Myers of Hanover; and a number of nieces and nephews.
