Rita A. (Quinn) Snyder

POTTSVILLE - Rita A. Snyder, 87, of Pottsville died Tuesday evening at Seton Manor Nursing Home, Orwigsburg. Born in Pottsville on August 7, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Kathryn Wolfe Quinn. She was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School. On June 26, 1948 she married Richard P. Snyder, who survives. Until the early 1980s she was employed by Pomeroy's Department Store as a marking room clerk. Rita was a member of the Saint Patrick Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She volunteered at All Saints Library. Rita loved walking and enjoyed baking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: two brothers, Harry and William Quinn; and three sisters, Annie Roth, Dorothy Juranis and Mary Folino. Surviving Rita in addition to her husband Richard of 61 years are: a son Richard C. and his wife Cookie, of Pottsville; two daughters, Kathi Grate, of Pottsville and Patricia and her husband John Fatora, of Pottsville; five grandchildren, Jessica Snyder, Christine Capella, Holly Maio, Richard Grate III, and Krysta Halye-Hauck; eight great grandchildren, Joseph Capella, Hannah Capella, Danielle Capella, Kieran Maio, Aedan Maio, Simon Maio, Richard Grate IV, and Chayton Grate; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 AM from the Church of Saint Patrick, 4th & Mahantongo St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, from 6-8 PM Sunday evening and Monday morning from 10:15 - 11:15. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
