Richard J. Zentkovich

Richard J. Zentkovich, a devoted family man, passed away on August 21, 2024, at WellSpan York Hospital. He was born on June 15, 1940, in Shoaf, Pennsylvania to John Zentkovich and Mary (Rerko) Zentkovich. Richard was the loving husband of the late Delores A. (Roupe) Zentkovich to whom he was married for 65 years.

Richard dedicated 30 years of his career to General Motors (GM), where he worked in Quality Assurance at the GM Baltimore Broening Highway plant. After his retirement from GM, Richard spent his spare time helping local farmers with their crops. 

Outside of his public life, Richard found great joy in the outdoors. He cherished camping trips with his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with his loved ones.

Richard is survived by his son, Terry L. Zentkovich, and his wife Terri of Abingdon, Maryland. He also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Annette Zentkovich; six grandchildren, Jessica (Chad) Allison, Holly Zentkovich, Kelli (Pete) Resseguie, Jenna Zentkovich, April Zentkovich, and Kyle Zentkovich; and five great-grandchildren, Troy Shoeman, Cheyenne Shoeman, Kloee Allison, Kaedon Allison, and Caleb Resseguie. His two sisters, Audrey and Barb, also survive him. In addition to his wife, Richard is preceded in death by his son, Daniel R. Zentkovich.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:30 AM on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
