Richard W. Mundis

York--Richard W. Mundis, 94, died Saturday, October 30, 2016 at his residence in W. Manchester Twp. He was the husband of Ruth E. (Kern) Mundis. Richard was also the husband of the late Burnettia L. (Hess) Mundis and Attle L. Mundis. A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born May 6, 1922 in York, he was a son of the late David E. and Wilma K. (Warner) Mundis. He was employed with Universal Freight System as a Sales Representative/Terminal Manager for 36 years until his retirement in March 1983. A United States Navy Veteran of World War II, he was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Mundis is also survived by his son, David R. Mundis and wife, Susan; three daughters, Brenda L. Mundis and husband, John Kramer, Linda K. Freed and husband, James and Dorothy J. Koller and husband, Robert; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one sister, Phyllis K. Bixler and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lydia M. Freed; three grandsons, Brandon J. Koller, David E. and Michael E. Wintermyer and a great grandson, Cayden I. Kalentji.
