Richard Selman Campbell

YORK- Richard Selman Campbell, 66, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at his residence. He was the husband of Cynthia Ann (Parks) Campbell. The couple planned to celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary on September 11th. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Certified Celebrant Debe Snyder officiating. A visitation will be from 11-12 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Born on November 17, 1951 in Seattle, WA, he was a son of the late Clarence and Margaret (McCormick) Campbell. Richard was a logistics engineer at BAE for 22 years until his retirement in 2014. After retiring, he volunteered at the York Literacy Council, teaching ESL. Mr. Campbell served our country in the U.S Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Richard enjoyed scuba diving and flying planes as well as music, movies, computers and ballroom dancing. Along with his wife, Cindy, Richard is survived by his son, Matthew Campbell of York; daughter, Lauren Campbell of York; one brother, Kevin Campbell and wife, Petra of Kansas City, KS; five sisters, Patricia Campbell-Faulknor and husband, Boyd of Valley Green, AZ, Eileen Mauk and husband, Richard of Ft. Worth, TX, Peggy Lee Campbell of Lamorlaye, France, Kathy Bishop and husband, Jerrod of Wichita, KS and Amy Vradenburg and husband, Jerod of Whitefish, MT Memorial contributions may be made to the York Literacy Council, 800 E.
