Richard S. Manns

YORK- Richard S. “Dick” Manns, 91, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at The Village at Sprenkle Dr. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Lowry) Manns to whom he was married for 55 years. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd., York with Chaplain Tricia McMackin officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on November 24, 1926 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John F. and Mary B. (Cress) Manns. Dick was a utilities worker for West Penn Power for 30 years until his retirement. Mr. Manns served our country in the United States Navy for two years during World War II. Mr. Manns is survived by two daughters, Georgia Westphal and husband, Curt of York and Melissa Fox and husband, Matthew of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Chris Westphal, Eric Westphal, Krystal Belk, Miracle Fox and Samuel Belk; and two great grandchildren, Andrew Westphal and Alex Westphal.
